Fabiaan Van Vrekhem is Executive Chairman of VALPEO. He has accumulated a wide range of experience in all areas of organisational development and leadership strategy.
Fabiaan has always been passionate about creating an integrated and holistic approach to strategy implementation, organisation development, recruitment, talent management, competence management, leadership development, and compensation policy. It was this deep interest in finding value in people and organizations that lead Fabiaan to found VALPEO and create the VALPEO (Transformative Value of People and Organisations) platform – an integrated toolkit that is the backbone of VALPEO’s approach to supporting its clients.
His extensive and diverse career has seen him take on various leadership roles in the industry. He has previously held several front-line and HR roles in insurance, non-profit, and with large groups as Tate & Lyle, Campina Melkunie, and as HR Director at Alken-Maes, part of Danone Group. In 2002, he started a wholesale and retail company but then went back to his passion, which is HR, taking over Accord Group, a leadership and organisational advisory firm that is part of the VALPEO Group now, in Belgium in 2006. He later co-founded VALPEO, integrating Accord within the group, with a mission to bring the best of a science and technology-based approach to advising clients on organisation and leadership effectiveness.
Fabiaan, is the author of two books. His first book “The Disruptive Competence” is about the journey to a sustainable business from matter to meaning. His second book ‘Disruption@work’ describes and explains the different levels of disruption.
Fabiaan graduated with a degree in Banking, Stock Markets, and Finance, and holds a Master’s degree in Commercial and Financial Sciences as well as an MBA.
