Alexei Sokolov
Partner
Alexei brings over two decades of global leadership advisory experience across Europe, Africa, and the CIS region. He helps organisations understand how leadership, culture, and context interact and how aligning these elements enables value creation.
Before joining VALPEO, Alexei spent 17 years with Egon Zehnder in Vienna, Johannesburg, and Moscow, where he advised boards, CEOs, and senior executives on succession, leadership transformation, and organisational effectiveness. He served as Managing Partner for Russia & CIS and later as Partner in Austria and South Africa, working across industrials, energy, private equity, and emerging markets.
His earlier career in management consulting with A.T. Kearney and Accenture, followed by senior leadership roles at TNK-BP, built a deep understanding of strategic decision-making, governance, and complexity in large organisations. This foundation gives him a systemic lens: how roles evolve, how leaders grow, and how organisations must adapt to shifting environments.
Alexei holds an MBA from London Business School and an Executive Master of Change from INSEAD, where he deepened his focus on human dynamics, identity, and change. He also studied international relations in Moscow and the UK and brings a multicultural perspective shaped across continents.
At VALPEO, Alexei works with leaders and ownership teams to make future potential visible: clarifying context, strengthening alignment, and enabling leadership that is fit for its true future.
