Role (80% - 100%)

  • Steering technical development and managing the company's technological infrastructure.
  • Actively contribute to the company's development strategy.
  • Working closely with management and the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to align technological objectives with the company's overall vision.
  • Manage a team of laboratory assistants and encourage their professional development.
  • Working with in-house laboratories to develop new tests and manage key technology partnerships.
  • Keeping a technology watch and anticipating future market needs while assessing emerging technologies.
  • Developing and optimising quality processes.
  • Supervising the logistical aspects of compounds and robotic automation (Tecan).
  • Attend international conferences and specialist technical meetings (1-2 times a year).
  • Participating in the acquisition of new laboratory equipment.
  • Ancillary role of supervising the IT infrastructure.
  • Strengthening the digital culture by promoting a corporate culture that encourages the adoption of new technologies.
  • Geographical proximity for on-site face-to-face work.

Profile & Experience

  • Engineer, Master's, or PhD in bioinformatics, bioengineering, ideally with knowledge of electronics and/or mechanics.
  • Ideally, 2-3 years of experience in biotechnology in a role such as engineer, developer, and/or bioinformatician.
  • Desired expertise in software and hardware interfaces.
  • Experience with 3D printing and robotic pipetting would be a plus.

Skills

  • Proficiency in key concepts of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data applied to biological data.
  • Mastery of common programming languages (Python, R, JavaScript, etc.) and their application in bioinformatics and data analysis.
  • Curiosity and interest in life sciences and biology.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Understanding of business challenges and the ability to translate them into relevant technological strategies.
  • Ability to anticipate technological trends and identify opportunities for value creation.
  • Proven leadership and management qualities.
  • Ability to delegate, inspire, and create a work environment conducive to innovation and performance.
  • Skill in simplifying complex concepts and presenting technological strategies clearly and concisely.
  • High adaptability and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Curiosity, open-mindedness, and a constant focus on new trends.
