Why strategic success depends on more than just market share or margins<\/h2>\n

Most organisations are under pressure to deliver more \u2014 more growth, more efficiency, more innovation. But in the race to compete, something vital is often overlooked: the nature of the value being created. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you truly delivering something new and meaningful \u2014 or simply refining what already exists? The value illusion<\/h3>\n

For decades, value creation has been equated with financial performance \u2014 revenue growth, shareholder returns, market share. These are important. But they\u2019re outcomes, not causes. When we fixate on these lagging indicators, we risk missing what\u2019s shifting beneath the surface<\/strong>: the needs, behaviours, and possibilities shaping tomorrow\u2019s demand.<\/p>\n

Many organisations are investing heavily to preserve relevance in saturated, hyper-competitive markets \u2014 improving what\u2019s already there, cutting costs, tweaking processes. But when competition intensifies and margins shrink, the question becomes: are we truly creating value, or just defending it?<\/em><\/p>\n

Seeing value through a new lens<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The strategy gap<\/h3>\n

Traditional frameworks assume that a well-designed strategy will be well-executed. But that only holds when the complexity of the strategy matches the capability of the people charged with leading it.<\/p>\n
